On April 1 and 2, nearly 250 participants convened for the international forum IPADE Trends, a distinguished platform for dialogue and analysis on the most significant trends shaping the future of business leadership. This event brought together business leaders, expert analysts, and academics to share insights on critical topics such as geopolitics, technology, strategic decision-making, and transformations in global markets.
Over the course of two intensive days, the forum hosted a lineup of prominent speakers, including José Antonio Meade Kuribreña, former Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, and Michael C. Camuñez, President and CEO of Monarch Global Strategies LLC. Together, they offered in-depth- reflections on the future of the Mexico–United States bilateral relationship in a panel moderated by IPADE professor José Carlos Rodríguez Pueblita.
At the end of the first day, Antonio Huertas Mejías, President and CEO of MAPFRE, delivered a compelling address on the management of geopolitical and catastrophic risks—topics of increasing relevance for companies navigating today’s volatile global landscape.
The second day commenced with an engaging keynote by neuroscientist Mariano Sigman, PhD, who explored the theme of personal and organizational transformation in his talk, “Learning to Relearn.”
Subsequently, a panel moderated by IPADE professor José Díez Deustua examined the evolving business environment and resilient leadership. Panelists included Martha Patricia Herrera González, Secretary of Equality and Inclusion for the Government of Nuevo León; José Manuel Arana Escobar, CEO of Nadro; and José Medina Mora, Founder and President of CompuSoluciones.
Following this, IPADE professors José Carlos Rodríguez Pueblita and Antonio Casanueva Fernández presented a comprehensive analysis of business expectations for 2025, outlining key strategies for interpreting the economic landscape.
In the forum’s final segment, María José Treviño Melguizo, CEO of Acclaim Energy México and LATAM; Amapola Grijalva Vega, Chair of the Mexico-China Chamber of Commerce and Technology; and Gustavo Huerta Vargas, General Partner and Managing Director at View Capital, discussed emerging business opportunities amid disruption. This panel was moderated by IPADE professor Francisco Beltrán.
The event concluded with a keynote address byVijay Vaitheeswaran, Global Energy and Climate Innovation Editor at The Economist, who shared strategic insights on thriving in disruptive times through innovation and foresight.
Closing remarks were delivered by IPADE’s Dean, Lorenzo Fernández Alonso, who emphasized the importance of this forum in the ongoing development of business leaders committed to making a meaningful impact within their organizations and society at large.
